A 16-time NHRA champion and drag racing great, ohn Force, is overcoming a catastrophic brain damage he sustained in a high-speed incident and is making remarkable progress in his rehabilitation. His daughter Courtney has now updated his fans on his recovery by posting a snapshot of the driver.

Force was sent careening 302 miles per hour into a concrete wall after the engine of his Funny Car burst during the NHRA Virginia Nationals in late June. Photos posted by his daughter Courtney Force offer a hopeful look into his recovery process after suffering terrible injuries in the incident, including a traumatic brain injury and a cracked sternum.

Force escaped the debris of the crash shortly after it occurred, albeit suffering serious injuries. After spending fifteen days in a hospital in Virginia, he was transported to the Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix for further specialist treatment after being airlifted there.

Force completed 30 days of rigorous treatment and was then released to resume outpatient therapy at home. He gradually regained his balance and learned to walk with assistance. According to accounts, though, he is still struggling with cognitive and short-term memory impairments.
