An impending free agent from the Milwaukee Brewers has once again been linked to the Los Angeles Dodgers, a great team that is known for spending a lot of money.
There is a good chance that the Brewers will be in the news throughout the winter until their player with the highest free agent contract signs somewhere. The rumor mill has already been churning, and the most recent claim says that Brewers supporters now have even more bad news to deal with.
“The fit between (Willy) Adames and the Dodgers is obvious,” Writer Robert Murray of FanSided said in baseball article published on Tuesday morning. “Los Angeles does not have a long-term shortstop, and despite the fact that they broke a record for spending during the previous offseason, they should have enough money to spend this winter because of the way Shohei Ohtani constructed his 10-year, $700 million contract.
During their time with the Tampa Bay Rays, Adames and Andrew Friedman, an executive for the Dodgers, established a working relationship. In recent years, Friedman has also attempted to make a trade for Adames; however, the Brewers have chosen to keep the shortstop instead of making the corresponding trade.
This season, Adames played in 161 games and had a batting average of.251, 65 extra-base hits, including 32 home runs, 112 RBIs, and a slugging percentage of.793 (118 OPS+).
Although it is possible that the 29-year-old player will find a new home in Los Angeles, Brewers owner Mark Attanasio will continue to make an effort to keep Adames on the team. However, he is aware that the team’s financial constraints will be a factor in the decision-making process.
