Miami defeated Florida A&M 56-9 on Saturday with Cam Ward completing 20 of 26 passes for 304 yards, three touchdowns, and no interceptions. Miami led 25-3 in the second quarter after scoring TDs on its first three drives and a field goal on its fourth.

In the second quarter, FAMU scored another field goal to trail 25-6 at halftime. Miami has seven TDs, two field goals, and two turnovers in FAMU territory. Miami won 548-194 against FAMU for the second straight time.

Restrepo led Miami receivers with four receptions, 104 yards, and one touchdown for a second straight game. Isaiah Horton and Sam Brown each had four receptions for Miami on Saturday. Damiez Martinez contributed 10 carries for 90 yards and a touchdown and one reception for 15 yards to offer Miami offensive balance.

Starting left tackle Jalen Rivers and left guard Ryan Rodriguez were injured on Saturday, but Miami kept going. Markel Bell replaced Rivers and Matthew McCoy replaced Rodriguez. After transferring from Marshall in the off-season, Dyoni Hill made his Miami defensive back debut on Saturday.

Miami rushed for 224 yards and four touchdowns on 37 carries. Mark Fletcher had five carries for 42 yards and a TD for his third in two games. Saturday saw 12 Miami receivers catch passes. Along with Restrepo, Elijah Arroyo and Chris Johnson scored.

Miami’s top tacklers were linebacker Franciso Mauigoa, Tyler Baron, and Jaden Harris. Baron maintained his dominance with 3.5 tackles for loss and three sacks. As expected, Miami dominated the defensive line with 10 TFLs and five sacks.

Four starters out for Miami vs. Florida A&M. Against Florida A&M, Miami is missing four starters.

Miami plays Ball State on Saturday in the second of two non-conference home games. South Florida will host Miami’s last 2024 non-conference home game on September 21. Miami plays Virginia Tech on Friday, September 27 in the ACC opener.
