The 2025 season will begin for Florida on February 14–16, 2025, as they take on Air Force. Air Force, Harvard, Dayton, and Georgia Southern are among the new teams added to its non-conference schedule.
Florida will play host to the Longhorns for a three-game series in Austin from May 9-11, 2025, as a result of Texas and Oklahoma’s SEC membership this season. Oklahoma is not a regular season opponent for the Gators.

Among Florida’s most memorable home games are the three-game series against Alabama, Vanderbilt, Georgia, and Miami.

On March 14–16, the Gators will face the defending NCAA champions, Tennessee, in what could be their toughest series of the season.

The team led by Kevin O’Sullivan will be aiming for a third straight trip to the College World Series. In 2024, the Gators had a lackluster regular season, finishing 28-26, just two games over the 500-point mark. Their chances of advancing to the NCAA Tournament were low after they were eliminated early in the SEC Tournament.

Despite starting the Stillwater Regional as the third-seeded team, Florida improbably advanced to Omaha by overcoming Nebraska, Oklahoma State, and Clemson in the Super Regional. Despite sweeping Omaha, UF was unable to overcome Texas A&M and fell to the Aggies in both games.

Though they lost arguably the best player in Florida baseball history, the Seminoles will have a strong return of talent in 2025.

The Kansas City Royals selected Jac Caglianone, who set a program record for home runs in only three seasons, with the sixth overall pick in the 2024 Major League Baseball Draft. In addition to his obvious impact on defense and pitching, he is a major loss for UF’s lineup.

The loss of Caglianone and Brandon Neely, the closer, will be felt, but the return of Colby Shelton to Florida for the 2017 season and the addition of Ty Evans, a powerful hitter, will help. After breaking his wrist in May, Evans sat out the second half of the season.

By using the transfer portal during the winter, O’Sullivan was able to bolster his offense and defense with well-known players. The Gators’ most notable arrival through the portal is Blake Cyr. As a sophomore with the Miami Hurricanes, he hit.284 with a slash line of.397 and.537 in 25 games. His eyes were opened, though, in his rookie year when he started 59 of Miami’s 60 games. He had a.305 average, a.427 on-base percentage, 17 HR, and 63 RBI.

During the offseason, Florida welcomed Justin Nadeau from Jacksonville, Landon Stripling from Texas Tech, and Kyle Jones from Stetson, among other famous names in portal sports.

In the autumn, Liam Peterson will likely captain the squad that includes former Santa Fe College pitcher Matthew Jenkins, Mason Laurito, and Billy Barlow, who was a pitcher for Clemson.

At 121 Financial Ballpark, Jacksonville, the Gators will play Jacksonville University in their yearly exhibition game prior to the Florida–Georgia matchup on November 1. The schedule for the fall scrimmages between UF and other programs is still under wraps.
