The fact that they are going to miss the playoffs once more does not change the fact that they will continue to work hard in order to attain as near to a perfect record as they possibly can before the season is up.
For Pittsburgh, Andrew McCutchen had a fantastic day at the plate, making two walks and hitting a home run in addition to going one for two at the plate. With three runs batted in, he also scored a run. His 20th home run of the season allowed him to pass Ralph Kiner, a member of the Hall of Fame, in some of the history of the team.
the most seasons with 20 home runs, Pirates history:
That is a very remarkable accomplishment, and any time you are able to surpass a Hall of Famer, you have accomplished something worthwhile. Currently, McCutchen, who is 37 years old, is hitting.241 in total for the year, with 20 home runs and 51 runs batted in combined.
He has a batting average of.770. He re-signed with the team for a one-year deal during the summer that just passed, and he has not yet decided what he will do for the 2025 season.
In his whole career, McCutchen has a batting average of.274, 319 home runs, and 1,095 RBI. As a former Most Valuable Player, a five-time All-Star, a four-time Silver Slugger, and a Gold Glover, he is widely considered to be one of the most popular players in the history of the Pirates.
Kiner, on the other hand, managed the Pittsburgh Pirates, the Chicago Cubs, and the Cleveland Indians during his ten years of professional baseball. During those ten years, he hit 369 home runs, including a major league record 51 in 1947 and 54 in 1949. He won the home run title in 1947.
