The Seahawks (5-5) ended a losing streak of two games and improved to 2-2 in their last seven games after a bye week. With their win, Seattle, San Francisco (5-5) and the Los Angeles Rams (5-5) are now tied for second place in the NFC West, one game behind idle Arizona (6-4).

Smith completed 25% of his passes for 221 yards with a one pick-six. After sitting out the past two contests due to a knee injury, DK Metcalf returned for this one, adding seven receptions for 70 yards. Jaxon Smith-Njigba caught ten passes for 110 yards.

The 49ers’ two-game winning streak was ended when Brock Purdy threw for 159 yards on 21 of 28 attempts and scored once by passing and once through rushing.

In his second game back from Achilles tendinitis, Christian McCaffrey rushed for 79 yards and caught 27 passes for 106 yards. Jauan Jennings had a touchdown and 91 yards on 10 receptions.

With 2 minutes and 38 seconds left in the game, the Seahawks were awarded a punt and placed on their own 20-yard line. Including his 13-yard touchdown run and 16-yard gallop, Smith completed 7 of 8 passes for 54 yards during the game-winning drive.

A 14-play, 70-yard drive that lasted nearly nine minutes was completed by Purdy with a 3-yard touchdown pass to Jennings at 9:33 remained, putting the game out of reach with a 13-10 lead.

On fourth-and-inches from the San Francisco 37-yard line, with 3:56 seconds left in the game, the Seahawks decided to go for it. The play that had been effective in the first half—lining up Zach Charbonnet as fullback and giving him the ball—was thwarted in the second.

But the 49ers couldn’t stop the clock, so the Seahawks had a final opportunity.

An end for the San Francisco defense Nick Bosa didn’t come back from his third-quarter sack of Smith because he seemed to aggravate a hip issue.

Bosa was injured on the same drive that the Seahawks scored their first touchdown. With a 1-yard rush, Kenneth Walker III (54 yards on 14 carries) put Seattle in the lead, 13-10.

Purdy scored for the 49ers on a 10-yard run to put them up 7-6 at halftime. With the ball extended just inside the pylon, he dove to his right as he scrambled.

During the first half, Jason Myers of Seattle made field goals from 52 and 57 yards out. Jake Moody of the 49ers kicked a field goal from 33 yards out early in the third quarter, increasing the home team’s advantage to 10-6.

Pro tight end with the San Francisco 49ers A hamstring problem rendered George Kittle inactive.
