Reports: Disarray Awaits Royals’ as Star Player Suspended for the Season Following Dispute with Team Owner…..Read more
There is little doubt that the Kansas City Royals have secured their spot in the postseason. The Minnesota Twins were eliminated from the playoffs despite the fact that they were defeated by the Atlanta Braves by a score of 3-0; yet, they were also eliminated.
When everything is said and done, the Royals will hold one of the final two berths in the playoffs since they will be a Wild Card team when they enter the playoffs. The majority of the season has been carried by the blazing-hot bat of Bobby Witt Jr., who is a candidate for the Most Valuable Player award.
However, Witt is not the only member of the Royals who is contributing to the team’s success. Over the course of this season, their starting rotation has been their most significant strength. The rotation was ranked third among of thirteen teams that were considered to be postseason contenders by Joel Reuter of Bleacher Report.
“The one-two punch of Seth Lugo and Cole Ragans could make the Kansas City Royals sleepers for a deep run into October,” according to the publication.
In Kansas City’s starting rotation, Lugo and Ragans are considered to be the two best pitchers. On the other hand, they also have a few additional choices. Lugo’s only experience in the playoffs comes from his role as a reliever, and neither of the starters has actually started a game during the postseason.
When it comes to the top four players that will be used in the postseason, Michael Wacha and Brady Singer round out the group. Wacha has the potential to be the deciding factor. It is essential to keep in mind that he was the National League Championship Series Most Valuable Player in 2013, when the St. Louis Cardinals defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers. He is throwing like the starter that the Cardinals saw early on.
It will be intriguing to see how the Royals perform against the other teams that are contenders in the American League in October. These four players should make the Royals a formidable opponent throughout the month of October.
