Reports: Derek Shelton Alleges He Was Facing……
Will the Pittsburgh Pirates be able to maintain their current winning streak?
When they open a three-game series against the Kansas City Royals on Friday, they will be up against a formidable opponent in order to accomplish their goal.
The Pittsburgh Pirates are currently riding a four-game winning streak, which includes victories against the Washington Nationals and the Miami Marlins in a three-game series over which they have won all three games. Prior to losing two of three games against the New York Yankees at Yankee Stadium, the Royals had been on a winning streak of four games.
With a record of 56-106 in the previous season, Kansas City is currently in the midst of one of the most impressive turnarounds in baseball. The Royals are currently in second place in the American League Central, four games behind the Cleveland Guardians, and have a chance to make the playoffs with a 95 percent chance of doing so.
Their current record is 80-67. Bobby Witt Jr., a shortstop who is a candidate for the Most Valuable Player award, has been the driving force behind the turnaround that the Royals have seen. He has hit.333 as well as 30 home runs, driven in 99 runs, scored 120 runs, and stolen 28 bases.
On the other hand, Kansas City has shown that it is a very different club when it is away from home, as it has a record of 35-37 as opposed to 45-30 at home.
During their current winning streak, the Pirates’ pitching has been impressive, allowing an average of 2.5 runs per game they have played.
The Pittsburgh Steelers have a record of 7-3 in their most recent ten games, and they are just one win away from matching their total number of victories in August, when they went 8-19, virtually eliminating them from the National League postseason race. Over the past ten games, Kansas City has a record of 5-5. This September, the Pirates have a record of 7-4 so far.
When the Pirates take the field, Luis Ortiz will be the pitcher. Ortiz has made 12 starts since entering the starting rotation at the end of June, and he has a record of 3-3 with a 3.10 earned run average.
