It has been reported that the Kansas City Chiefs reached an agreement on Wednesday regarding a trade that would involve the club trading a conditional fifth-round pick to the Tennessee Titans in exchange for DeAndre Hopkins, a wide receiver who has been named to the All-Pro team three times.

However, when reporters asked Reid again about Hopkins and whether or not he would practice on Wednesday, Reid reacted as if the answer was concealed behind confidential records from the Central Intelligence Agency.

In the beginning, Reid was questioned about the type of player Hopkins is. On the other hand, the Chiefs coach chooses not to accept the bait.

“Yeah, Veach [Chiefs general manager Brett Veach] is dealing with all that, so I’m hush on that,” Reid responded to reporters.

Following that, Reid channeled his inner Sergeant Schultz from the television show Hogan’s Heroes when he was asked if Hopkins would conduct practice on Wednesday.

For the purpose of avoiding getting into trouble with the league, it is fairly unusual for teams to act as if they are unaware of a deal before it is officially announced. Additionally, despite the fact that a tweet from the National Football League’s account on X (formerly known as Twitter) stated that Hopkins was going to be moving to Kansas City, there has been no official announcement on the Hopkins trade. This is the reason why Reid and Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes seemed to be acting as if there was nothing to see here at Wednesday’s news conferences.

On the other hand, Reid deserves praise for offering some comedic relief. It is Week 8 at Allegiant Stadium, where the Kansas City Chiefs (6-0) will face off against the Las Vegas Raiders (2-5).
