The Cleveland Browns returned home victorious after a low-scoring matchup at Jacksonville. The Browns’ 18-13 win over the Jaguars was highlighted by a solid and clean first half, but the second half was a complete opposite.
Although several players contributed significantly to the win, a few still have many unanswered questions. Though they did not receive any three stars, Alex Wright, Corey Bojorquez, and Dustin Hopkins were all deserving after contributing significantly to the victory with key plays.
In my opinion, the game’s three most valuable players are these three.
R. Owusu-Koramoah
Once again, JOK appeared to be a defensive leader and was everywhere on the field. The team leader in tackles was the linebacker, who recorded seven total, six of which were solo tackles and two of which were tackles for loss. Travis Etienne was largely responsible for his lack of production (apart from a single touchdown in the second half) due to his aggression and quickness to get into the backfield.
Leonard Grant
Delpit appeared to teleport about the field in this game, joining JOK in that regard. As he rose from his defensive position, the ninth player attempted to grab the football from the hands of the ball carriers. He finished the game with six tackles, good for second best in the game, behind only JOK. Of those, five were made alone, and two were for losses.
Jacksonville, Florida, USA; September 15, 2024; After the Cleveland Browns’ defense stopped the Jacksonville Jaguars in the fourth quarter at EverBank Stadium, safety Ronnie Hickman (33), linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah (6), and Grant Delpit (9) celebrate the touchdown. In only his second game with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Jeudy came up big when Amari Cooper had a rough game and missed some easy receptions. Five receptions for seventy-three yards were hiss on six targets. As a route runner, Jeudy was effective, able to split the field and get open. Meanwhile, he was most effective in close quarters.
On the move, Deshaun Watson delivered a challenging pass, and he caught it while running down the sideline. He stayed focused, the ball flew up, and he caught it while remaining inside the boundaries. This kind of play from Jeudy is going to be crucial for the rest of the season.
