The 25-year-old player sustained the injury while participating in off-season training, as reported by Sportsnet. It is highly improbable that he will be able to take part in the Canadiens’ training camp.

A challenging season for Harvey-Pinard was the one that took place in 2023–24. It was during a game against the Dallas Stars on February 10 that he sustained a leg injury as a result of an accident involving his teammate Joel Armia, who landed on the winger.

It was necessary for the training personnel of the Habs to assist Harvey-Pinard in emerging from the ice. His absence would last for three weeks, and he would return on March 5. During his final 21 games of the season, he would only manage to score one goal and two assists. When playing with the Canadiens during the regular season, Harvey-Pinard racked up a total of ten points, including two goals, eight assists, and a total of 45 games played.

It was a step down from the previous season, when the 2019 seventh-round pick produced 14 goals and 20 points in just 34 games with the Canadiens. He was called up after generating 16 goals and 15 assists for 31 points in 40 games with their American Hockey League affiliate, the Laval Rocket.

This was a drop down from the prior season. With the Rocket, Harvey-Pinard had his best professional season in 2021-22, during which he scored 21 goals and 35 assists for a total of 56 points in 69 regular-season games. During that spring, he also earned 10 points in 15 Calder Cup Playoff games.

During his junior career, Harvey-Pinard was a member of the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL). He was instrumental in the club’s victory in the President’s Cup championship as well as the Memorial Cup title of the Canadian Hockey League (CHL) in the 2018-19 season.

During his time in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, Harvey-Pinard made a total of 248 regular-season games, scoring 110 goals and 152 assists for a total of 262 points.
