“Racism will not be tolerated in my team” Angry Dave Canales scolded key player for trying to……See more
Dave Canales, the head coach of the Carolina Panthers, has released a statement announcing his resignation.
The Panthers and Dave Canales have come to an agreement that will allow Canales to take over as head coach.
I am CHARLOTTE. In addition to having a new head coach, the Panthers now have the chance to get their season back on track.
Canales, who is now the offensive coordinator for the Buccaneers, will become the seventh head coach in the Buccaneers’ history, according to an agreement that was reached on Thursday by the organization.
The owner of the Panthers, David Tepper, has remarked that “Dave’s history is based on achievement that he has accomplished.” It is because of his positive attitude and creative thinking that he is able to get along well with both the players and the staff. The fact that he is able to bring out the best in players has exceeded our expectations.
Canales, who is 42 years old, has a history of climbing the ranks and making the most of the opportunities that have been offered to him by the various position groups and units that he has worked with.
Because he spent eight years in Seattle working with Dan Morgan, who is now the President of Football Operations and General Manager of the Panthers, there is a good probability that he will have a philosophical compatibility with the front office.
In addition to this, his recent work with the Buccaneers yielded results very immediately in a domain that a lot of coaches were hesitant to tackle.
Canales joined the team last season after quarterback Baker Mayfield announced his retirement from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He was instrumental in the team’s success, as they won the NFC South crown and the postseason. The Buccaneers finished the previous season ranked seventh in the league for plays of 20 yards or more. This was mostly due to the fact that their quarterback had the ability to quickly release the ball and send it downfield.
His journey began in Southern California, where he was coached by Pete Carroll, and ended with the Seahawks, where he played for thirteen years before moving on to the Buccaneers. Morgan expressed his excitement by saying, “I’m thrilled to collaborate with Dave another time.” “Through his time spent working as a position group coach, he has gained a profound understanding of the elements that contribute to the building of a successful team. Players, as well as everybody else he comes into contact with, are drawn to him because of his infectious charm. That is something that I am certain will be carried over onto the pitch.
Similar to Morgan, he began his career in Seattle as the receivers coach and eventually worked his way up to become the quarterbacks coach and the passing game coordinator.
His assistance was important in Geno Smith’s success in 2022, when the journeyman quarterback reached career highs in passing yards and touchdowns (4,282 and 30), as well as earned a completion percentage that led the league (69.8). This accomplishment contributed to Smith’s success in winning the NFL Comeback Player of the Year title.
Because of this, he is in an excellent position to work with Blake Young, who was selected in the first round in the past, and a 2023 offense that finished last in the league.
Canales is expected to continue making play calls, since this is expected to continue. In the same way that Morgan does, Canales will report directly to the owner, David Tepper.
He becomes the only Hispanic coach in the league that is currently in existence, making him the second Hispanic coach in the history of the team and only the fifth Hispanic coach in the history of the league. He follows in the footsteps of former Panthers coach Ron Rivera, Brian Flores, Tom Flores, and Tom Fears.
