According to local insider Darren Wolfson, they are reportedly discussing a possible transfer, possibly a significant one. Wolfson responded, “I think it could be pretty big,” when asked how big of an impact this Vikings could make on Minnesota Sports with Mackey & Judd.

“A last-second field goal might not have changed these dynamics, but I can assure you that they are definitely having conversations. If I hear differently, I’ll be startled. I’ve been told that I should at least think about placing that first-round choice on the table.

Who could the Vikings target, then? At this stage, any name drops are conjecture. “Whether it’s a Jeffery Simmons, Dexter Lawrence, or even Jaycee Horn is the more significant question.

Does the one plus more have to go, and if so, what is that extra? “I think it’s also your 2026 first-round pick for Lawrence,” Wolfson conjectured. “I’m not familiar with that. Even about Lawrence, he thinks highly of Dexter Lawrence based on his acquaintance with Andre Patterson, the former defensive line coach of the Vikings who currently coaches the defensive line for the New York Giants.

If the Giants were to trade Dexter Lawrence, I would be shocked. Observe YouTube’s Bring Me The Sports The 27-year-old Simmons is now in the first year of a four-year contract deal worth $94 million.

Horn has one season left on his rookie contract after Carolina picked up his fifth-year option, and he will turn 25 in approximately a month.

Any trade for a well-known player might cost the Vikings that first-round pick and more, as Minnesota only has three picks in the 2025 draft: two in the fifth round and one in the first.
