Marchessault: Nashville Predators Are ‘a Team That Wants to Win’
The Stanley Cup winner and 638-game NHL veteran Jonathan Marchessault has inked a $27.5 million, five-year contract with the Nashville Predators, according to general manager Barry Trotz. A championship-caliber team, the Nashville Predators are famous for their potent offensive strategy. Marchessault is ready to show his value to the team after becoming the all-time leader in goals, assists, and points with the Vegas Golden Knights and having scored 30 goals three times.
Reports have reached Marchessault’s camp regarding a possible trade involving Steven Stamkos, a 33-year-old forward and two-time Stanley Cup winner, as he finalises his terms with Nashville. After finalising the arrangement with his ex-teammate, he will begin the search for housing and educational opportunities.
Marchessault is hopeful about the off-ice chemistry between the two players because of their successful history together with the Lightning. With him, Steven Stamkos, Ryan O’Reilly, and Luke Schenn joining a squad that already has four Stanley Cup winners, he thinks Nashville should be thrilled to have him on board.
The addition of Marchessault, a Cup winner and veteran of 638 NHL games, should make Nashville fans even more ecstatic, given the Predators’ roster already has four Stanley Cup winners. Marchessault thinks that everyone is in this together because winning a title is so addicting.
