His dad, Tracy Rocker, is a defensive line coach for the Tennessee Titans, and he would never miss a game.
Per Jim Wyatt, who covers the Titans: .Following today’s practice, Titans defensive coordinator Tracy Rocker intends to go to Seattle to witness his son’s Major League Baseball debut tonight with the Rangers. The kid is a former Vandy Boy. Going to practice in Nashville on Friday, so I’ll be flying back that night.

It’s heartwarming to see the elder Rocker so committed to attending his son’s important occasion. Kumar Rocker had an outstanding career at Vanderbilt and was selected by the Rangers in the first round of the 2022 draft. For his part, MLB.com ranks him among the game’s top 100 prospects.

Part of his prospect profile on MLB.com reads as follows:

Known for his devastating mid-80s monster of a slider, Rocker showcased it in the AFL and his actual pro debut this spring, earning him widespread renown. When he threw from a lower arm angle than typical in Arizona, his mid-90s fastball lacked life and command. In 2023, he threw from a higher slot, and his fastball received more swings and misses. In order to increase the flow through his heater, Texas instructed him to add more two-seamers with sink.

As for Tracy Rocker, he’s been coaching for 33 years and has a lot of experience. Along with the Philadelphia Eagles, he made it to the Super Bowl in 2022.
