What this does not imply, however, is that the team does not have any problems.

It is quite clear that Cleveland has a significant problem with their starting pitchers, since the team boasts one of the worst starting rotations in all of baseball.
On the other hand, the Guardians are also dealing with a very serious issue, which is offensive up the middle.
Cleveland’s offensive productivity from catcher, second base, shortstop, and center field is ranked 27th in all of baseball. This is the position that Cleveland holds. As a result, this comes after the previous season’s placement of 26th in that area.

Consequently, this has been a running problem for the Guardians for a considerable amount of time now.
The fact that Cleveland does not have a great deal of offensive talent at those individual spots is not something that should come as much of a surprise to anyone.
Andres Gimenez is a defensive mastermind, but he has never been recognized for his playing ability with the bat. A significant amount of disappointment has been caused by Brayan Rocchio, while Tyler Freeman has been a total failure in the center field position.

The situation with Bo Naylor is a little more perplexing because he had an OPS of.809 the previous year, but then he went on to slash.209/.273/.370 in 2024. It’s possible that the pitchers have simply begun to learn him.

Regardless of the circumstances, it is undeniable that the Guardians have a number of serious flaws in their offensive line, and as a result, Cleveland has been unable to regularly score runs that have been successful.

The Guardians have a very subpar record of 46-45 since they began the season with a record of 36-17. Furthermore, Cleveland has gone from a high of 51-26 in June to a current record of 31-36 since then.

The Guardians should undoubtedly make an effort to address the problem regions throughout the winter, even though it is too late for them to try to fix these concerns at this point in time.
