Just In: Philadelphia Eagles’ Nick Sirianni have just made a decision that either make or break the team this season. Does this risk worth taking…….

Philadelphia Eagles veteran defensive end Brandon Graham sought to back off remarks he made on Monday night implying that quarterback Jalen Hurts and wide receiver A.J. Brown are less connected than they were a few years ago.

Eagles’ Nick Sirianni addresses potential Brown, Hurts controversy

Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni was questioned about the matter during a Tuesday visit on Philadelphia sports radio station 94WIP.

“I would hold back on firestorm,” Sirianni advised, as reported by Bob Brookover of NJ Advance Media for NJ.com. “We had a game…as a passing offense that we didn’t play to the quality that we’re capable of and all I looked at was what happened after the game is guys saying, ‘Hey, we had to do better,'” and that’s true.”

Sirianni was citing Brown’s rather controversial remarks following Philadelphia’s 22-16 victory against the Carolina Panthers, which raised the Eagles to 11-2 on the season this past Sunday—passing was something the NFC East team needed to work on. Many thought Brown was disparaging Hurts following the signal-caller’s mere 108 passing yards against a 3-10 squad.

“I didn’t take it that way,” Sirianni remarked on the belief Brown had ripped Hurts. “…I grabbed it as A.J. is part of the passing attack and we want to improve as a passing attack. Both A.J. and Jalen are absolutely exceptional persons and players. And I enjoy that our guys want to improve and are driven to do so.

Graham said during a Monday appearance on 94WIP that “things have changed” between Brown and Hurts and that “we have to make sure the personal doesn’t get in the way of the business.” Either mistakenly or purposefully, Graham focused a lot of attention on the issue. Graham then stated he “made a mistake” and “assumed it was something that it wasn’t,” after speaking with Tim McManus of ESPN.

Following Sunday’s contest, Brown claimed rather curiously that “there’s not too much conversation” between he and Hurts during games to come up with adjustments when the offense isn’t delivering. Sirianni said Tuesday morning that the colleagues stay tight behind the scenes.

“I saw A.J. and Jalen talking about the game plan, lunch together every single day, and praying together before the game. Based on what has happened the last few days, there will be conjecture; yet, all you can do is assess what you observe. I am better informed, Sirianni said. “I visit them every single day and observe the internal building activity. We know there would be noise, and based on what has happened the last few days, I clearly get it; yet, I go off my daily interactions every single day.”

Given rumblings of locker-room discontent, Sirianni also poured cold water over the theory that Philadelphia may have a second-straight late-season collapse. Many publications discussed claimed problems that affected the club after the 2023 Eagles dropped from 10-1 to 11-6 before they lost a wild-card playoff game. Hurts’ relationship with Sirianni apparently grew strained.

DraftKings Sportsbook noted the Eagles as 4.5-point favorites for this coming Sunday’s home game against the 10-3 Pittsburgh Steelers Tuesday morning. Depending on what Eagles players have to say about the Brown-Hurts dynamic over the next few days, it may be fascinating to observe how that line swings.
