The engagement of Jalen Hurts and Bryonna “Bry” Burrows has been announced.

A fan posted a photo of Burrows supporting the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback on X (formerly Twitter) with the message, “Our good sis Bry Burrows got her ring!,” which led to engagement speculations between the two. “Jalen Hurts!” and “congratulations to her!” They told Essence they were engaged on Friday, September 13.

The football star reportedly proposed to her while they were on a tropical trip together during the NFL offseason, according to the outlet. Arrangements of flowers, candles, and a violinist were all part of his plan to heighten the atmosphere of romance. The couple is seen smiling in similar white attire as they gaze into the sunset on the beach in images they shared with Essence.

They crossed paths during their time as students at the University of Alabama, where Hurts was a football player for three years (2016–2018) before transferring to Oklahoma for his final year of school.

The Philadelphia Eagles selected Hurts in the second round of the 2020 NFL draft. By the conclusion of his rookie season, he had replaced Carson Wentz as the starting quarterback for the Eagles.

A 2017 bachelor’s degree recipient, Burrows studied both Spanish and politics. After that, she earned an MBA from the Manderson School of Business in Alabama.

Despite their long history of dating, their romance didn’t make headlines until January 2023, when Burrows was spotted racing down to the field following the Eagles’ NFL championship victory. They exited the stadium together after the game, holding hands.

A few months down the road, the Eagles star made an announcement about being in a relationship but not married, saying that he was “spoken for” in that regard. I’m not in a committed relationship or anything. That being said, I am already committed,” he declared in April 2023.

In an earlier interview with Essence, Hurts stated that he had an innate sense that Burrows was his soulmate.

Speaking to the media source, he revealed, “I knew a long time ago” about his fiancée. At this stage in my life, that is an invaluable sensation. In my opinion, that is the key that has led us to our current position.

At the Time100 Next Gala in October 2023, the pair made their red carpet debut in matching all-black ensembles.

Burrows most recently could be seen rooting for the quarterback in the historic 34–29 Eagles victory over the Green Bay Packers in the inaugural NFL game played in South America.

Hurts passed for 278 yards and two touchdowns and two interceptions in the game played in Brazil’s Sao Paulo’s Neo Quimica Arena.

When the club plays the Atlanta Falcons in Week 2 on Monday, September 16, Burrow and Hurts will most likely be in attendance again.
