There is still a lot to figure out, including whether or not Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa will be put on injured reserve, but Monday’s indicators were positive.

That information came from head coach Mike McDaniel during his media availability, which naturally began with the health of his quarterback.

From the Baptist Health Training Complex, McDaniel said that “he’s downstairs today, smiling with his teammates.” The trainers and medical personnel are working with him very hard. From my perspective, you’re following the protocol, and I believe he’s making good progress today; we’ll just have to see how things go.

What does that imply from a medical perspective that he was feeling well? Hearing the results of the medical evaluation and his current condition are more important to me than my encounters with him. Therefore, seeing him was a pleasure. His teammates were overjoyed to see him, too.

McDaniel will not be representing Tua.

According to a Sunday morning report on NFL Network, Tua has no plans to retire. McDaniel chose not to address the report, restating his position that he is not qualified to discuss such matters.

“I think as far as to his career is concerned, I think it’s of utmost priority of mine, for Tua to speak on his career,” stated McDaniel. It seems to me that reports are reports. From my perspective, the only thing that matters is the human being and their day-to-day well-being. And I’ll step aside and let Tua shine as the star of his own show.

The Dolphins’ 31-10 loss to the Bills on Thursday night was Tua’s third concussion in two years; the following day, McDaniel stated that he did not expect Tagovailoa to play in Week 3’s game against the Seahawks.

Dolphins are scheduled to make a roster move.

Although it did not occur following Tagovailoa’s terrible concussion in the 2022 Thursday night game against the Cincinnati Bengals, the prospect of his ending up on injured reserve is certainly there. That decision has not been reached yet, according to McDaniel.

The Dolphins need to execute a matching move to clear a spot on the 53-man roster in order to acquire quarterback Tyler Huntley off the Baltimore Ravens practice squad.

Currently, McDaniel stated that there is insufficient information. Medical professionals will be in charge of it. After we gather the necessary details and consult with Tua, [GM Chris Grier] and I can have that conversation. In the days to come, we will find out.
