The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the New York Yankees in the World Series this past fall, and they are now in a position to compete for additional championships over the next few years. As of right now, the Los Angeles Dodgers are the most talented club in the league, and that won’t change throughout this summer.

In light of the fact that free agency is set to heat up, the Dodgers do have some decisions to make. FanSided’s Jacob Mountz has strongly urged the organization to re-sign Teoscar Hernández, who is an All-Star slugger.

“Behind the stars that brought a championship trophy to LA, Teoscar Hernández was an integral part of the Dodgers’ success,” Mountz stated in his statement.

There was a period of time during which the Dodgers were missing at least one significant member of their lineup at a time. In 2024, Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman, and Max Muncy were absent from a total of 150 games throughout the season.

In more ways than one, Hernández compensated for their absences. Hernández was a member of the Dodger Blue during the course of one year, and during that time he contributed a significant amount of firepower from the middle of the order.

He hit a career-high 33 home runs and had a slash line of.272/.339/.501/.840, which earned him his third Silver Slugger award. Adding to his list of accomplishments, in addition to winning the Home Run Derby, he showcased a remarkable performance throughout the postseason by hitting three home runs and achieving an on-base percentage of.352…

Because Hernández is considered to be one of the best outfielders available during this offseason, it is only logical that the Dodgers have showed a significant amount of interest in signing him. Because of what he accomplished with the Dodgers and the fact that he has a “Los Angeles or bust” mentality, it seems like bringing Hernández back would be in the best interest of both sides.

The decision that Los Angeles took to sign Hernández during the offseason was unquestionably the best one. Bringing him back in 2025 would be the appropriate decision to make at this point in time.
