Just In: Los Angeles Dodgers have just made a big move by agreeing to…..Read more
Bruce Bochy, the manager of the Texas Rangers, is somewhat relieved that Shohei Ohtani is now in the National League.
Ohtani, who began his Major League career with the Los Angeles Angels, would, based on the schedule, play 14 to 19 games against the Rangers annually. However, in the winter, he inked a huge $700 million deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers. That implies he only plays in three games a year for the Rangers.
However, that doesn’t mean Bochy and guys on the Rangers, including Corey Seager, aren’t aware of Ohtani’s incredible feats with the Dodgers.
Ohtani made Major League history on Thursday by becoming the first player to ever hit 50 home runs and steal 50 bases in one season. In what is arguably the best individual game in baseball history, he pulled off the feat. The Dodgers defeated the Miami Marlins, 20–4, and he was 6-for–6 with 10 RBI, becoming the first big league player to hit three home runs and steal two bases in a game.
Bochy remarked, “It’s amazing what he’s doing and how easy he makes it look.” “He went off yesterday, not just with the home runs but also with the stolen bases. He seems to be having fun in a Little League park. That was how simple it appeared.
Ohtani is still recovering from UCL surgery on his right arm last season, so he is just playing as a designated hitter this year. Despite his limited ability to hit, he appears to be a lock to win the National League MVP award.
“I like him,” Bochy remarked. “I enjoy seeing the world’s top athletes compete. Though I don’t see him as often, I do see him plenty.
Earlier in the season, Texas travelled to Los Angeles to play the Dodgers. In 2025, Los Angeles will visit Texas; the dates of that series are April 18–20. Ohtani will undoubtedly sell out Globe Life Field.

Rangers shortstop For that series, Corey Seager ought to be in the game. Earlier this week, he underwent sports hernia surgery that ended his season. However, the former Dodger acknowledged that Ohtani’s performance on Thursday and thus far this season had amazed him.
“You know, it’s difficult not to be impressed?” stated Seager. It’s the first time it has ever been done. It’s a truly amazing feat for him. I’m ecstatic for him and think what he’s accomplished and contributed to baseball is fantastic. As a fan, I enjoy watching it.
