The designated hitter for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Alex Ohtani, made history on Friday night at Dodger Stadium by becoming the first player in Major League Baseball history to hit 50 home runs and steal 50 bases in a single season.

His performance against the Miami Marlins, which included three home runs and ten runs batted in, was the catalyst for this accomplishment.

With one runner on base and two outs in the bottom of the fifth inning, Ohtani worked the count full against Kyle Freeland, the left-handed pitcher for the Rockies during the game. After that, Freeland threw a fastball at the letters that was 92 miles per hour, a pitch that very probably would have resulted in the fourth ball being hit.

On the other hand, Ohtani had other plans, as he hit the pitch 423 feet over the center field wall for his 52nd home run of the year, causing the fans at Dodger Stadium to let out an audible gasp.

It is possible that Ohtani is the only baseball player on the earth who could have hit a pitch that high in the zone out of the park. He is the only player who could have done that.

In the Dodgers’ 6–4 victory, Ohtani created some more history by homerunning and stealing a base in the same game for the 14th time this season. He broke the previous record for a single season, which had been set by Rickey Henderson, who was an outfielder for the New York Yankees at the time. Henderson had recorded the record in 1986.

During the current season, Ohtani has participated in 151 games and has a slash line of.297/.378/.635 with 125 runs scored, 52 home runs, 122 RBI, and 52 stolen bases. He is the leading candidate for the National League Most Valuable Player award.
