Just In: Las Vegas Raiders’ Star Have Been Sanctioned And Fined $120 million By NFL For Racial Profiling Of Rivals Star……Read more
Poor playcalling and quarterback play were the biggest problems for the Las Vegas Raiders offense early in the previous season.
It was clear that the offense still had problems after the season opener against the Chargers. However, the majority of those problems stemmed from the team’s poor execution and carelessness, which allowed the Chargers to score.
The Raiders offense had a rough day despite showing flashes of potential due to turnovers and drives that hardly advanced the ball. Nevertheless, the Raiders had trouble moving the ball and executing, largely due to their offensive line that let Gardner Minshew II, the quarterback, be sacked four times.
“Player-ran business,” stated Raiders coach Antonio Pierce in his Friday media session. “That’s something I’ve always stated. I mentioned it on the day I assumed control last year. Assuming our top performers are on fire, we should be able to win. We have a lot of weapons on offense when Davante Adams, Jakobi Meyers, Big Mike Mayer, Brock Bowlers, Zamir White, and our offensive line are all effective.
However, the Raiders usually have a good day when those players are making plays. And that’s the crux of the matter in this game, isn’t it? We’re facing up against the reigning NFL MVP and one of the league’s finest teams. I mean, we’re going to put out our best effort, and everyone’s going to pitch in.
According to Pierce, the offensive line is the unit that sets the tone for the offense, so when they play well, the offense succeeds. In their upcoming game against the Baltimore Ravens, Pierce is hoping that the offensive linemen’s bad emotions would motivate them to give it their all.
“Again, it always starts with those guys up front,” added Pierce. “When we have a strong offensive line and everything, we’re able to run the ball and pass the ball effectively. The atmosphere is set by their thoughts, their enthusiasm, and just being there. To me, that is really crucial.
“They got it. They beheld it. What were the problems? Last week, it was obvious. If you lose the game while sitting there and watching it, you might wonder, “Why?” How was that accomplished? Tell me what led to that. We obviously spoke about that as well. Having lineman with a little bit of a grudge is what you’re after, isn’t it? Feel a bit more energized at heart. Therefore, I will not discuss it further. On Sunday, we must proceed with it.
