JUST IN: Key Penn State Defender on Future Plans: ‘Our Focus is Winning the National Championship’
Kimber, who transferred to Penn State this year for his fifth season, expressed during the spring that one of his objectives was to play well enough to enter the NFL draft after five years. Whether this season will mark the end of his college career is still uncertain.
When asked about his plans, Kimber acknowledged he hasn’t made a final decision yet. “I’ve definitely thought about it, because time is winding down,” Kimber shared with reporters on Sunday. “But right now, my focus is on helping us win a national championship and going 1-0 every week. Once the season ends, I’ll sit down with my family, weigh my options, and make the best decision for me. It’s important, but it’s not my priority at the moment. I’m just trying to finish strong.”
Kimber has made a significant impact at Penn State, playing 658 snaps this season—sixth most on the team—and earning a standout tackling grade of 87.6 from Pro Football Focus. If he chooses to return next season, Penn State will have a strong tandem at cornerback with A.J. Harris also set to return.
