By obtaining a work visa for Andres Salazar, Hearts are getting close to their ninth summer signing. After Hearts requested a Governing Body Exemption, the Scottish FA approved it, allowing the Colombian left back to work for the club.

The 21-year-old, who has played for Colombia at the senior level once, is about to finish a loan deal with Atletico Nacional, with the possibility of a permanent transfer. Steven Naismith, head coach of Hearts, anticipates that the deal will close next week, in time for the Europa League play-off round roster submission deadline.

“Both clubs are there,” he commented. When it comes to our desires, everyone is in agreement. Obtaining the necessary documentation, including visas and work permits, is our next step. Confirming my suspicions, I do not anticipate anything happening till next week. Things are always running in the background to make that happen.

Hibs are considering a third offer for Dundee skipper Luke McCowan following the rejection of their first two. At first attempt earlier this week, the Easter Road club were unsuccessful in their pursuit of the midfielder. The Dens Park club reportedly turned down an improved second offer on Friday, adding fuel to the fire that Hibs are reportedly still well short of Dundee’s asking price.

Dundee are unwilling to part with their 26-year-old hero, even though McCowan is in the last year of his contract and will be available to meet with clubs in January. While Celtic were said to have shown interest in McCowan early in the summer window, Bolton is also reportedly after the player.

During the summer transfer window, Celtic were connected with a bid for Wolves left back Hugo Bueno on loan. However, now they are keeping an eye on another English Premier League star. Reports indicate that Brendan Rodgers is considering a transfer for Crystal Palace utility player Jeffrey Schlupp, who has been with the Selhurst Park club for the last seven years.

With 230 appearances under his belt and a year remaining on his contract, the 31-year-old is versatile enough to play left defender, left wing, or center midfield for Palace. Celtic reportedly made a proposal for the Ghana international, who was born in Germany, and Palace was willing to approve the transfer, according to Sky Sports.

For Norwich’s away match against Oxford in the EFL Championship, Adam Idah, who has been linked to Celtic, will start on the bench. After a fruitful loan spell with Norwich last season, Celtic are eager to bring the striker back to Glasgow. However, a transfer fee has not been agreed upon between the two clubs.

On Saturday afternoon, Rangers will face Motherwell at Hampden Stadium to begin their temporary tenancy, but Todd Cantwell will not be in the starting lineup. The playmaker was demoted to the B team after informing Clement of his desire to depart during the close season.

Images of him training surfaced on Friday, leading some to speculate that he would be making a comeback to the first team. That was put to rest by Clement. Clement responded, “I have no idea about that,” when asked if the 26-year-old’s departure is imminent.

“Yes, he’s training separately because he said clearly that he wanted to go.” Some say Ianis Hagi’s contract will be ripped up, and he is reportedly very close to departing as well. “I haven’t heard a rumor about this until now,” Clement said. It is my responsibility to determine the team’s needs and the types of players we require. Decisions regarding money are being made by other individuals. So that’s the crux of it. Such decisions are not being made by me.
