There is a possibility that the National League Central division champions, who have won the division twice before, have numerous vacant spots to fill, notably in their starting rotation.

The departure of Frankie Montas is anticipated to occur through free agency, and despite the fact that Brandon Woodruff will be returning, it could be prudent for them to pursue another starter through free agency.

According to Bleacher Report’s Zachary D. Rymer, left-handed pitcher Jose Quintana is the eighth best starting pitcher that is now available thanks to free agency.

It is possible that the Brewers could show some interest in him. “If it feels like Jose Quintana has been around forever, well, that isn’t far from the truth,” Rymer stated in his article. “You are looking at a sure thing that may start in the third or fourth spot.

And it is highly possible that they are available for a two-year or even a one-year contract.” During his time with the Mets, Quintana had a successful season.

He even started Game 3 of the Wild Card Series against the Brewers, pitching six innings without allowing any runs to be scored. In the regular season, he had a record of 10-10 with a 3.75 earned run average.

The left-handed pitcher, who is 35 years old, is not an ace by any stretch of the imagination; yet, he is a dependable starter who is capable of delivering solid innings, and he even has a respectable track record in the postseason.

If the Brewers were to have Woodruff, Freddy Peralta, and Quintana at the top of their rotation, it would be a big boost for them so that they could successfully defend their National League Central crown in 2025. The left-handed pitcher will be the focus of our attention.
