ESPN Reports: Good news: the head coach of Cincinnati Bengals has been giving a new………..
Chad Johnson thinks Tee Higgins and the Bengals will work things out despite rumors of a trade and contract.
Chad Johnson has nothing to do with the Cincinnati Bengals and Tee Higgins’ contract dispute.
The former Bengals athlete told TMZ that he is hopeful that the two sides can reach a consensus after talking with Higgins.
I think we’re going to work things out. We’ll figure it out. That’s the way it is; it’s just business. Johnson, however, told me he would be alright.
Since the Bengals signed Higgins to the franchise tag in March, there doesn’t seem to have been any progress on a long-term contract.Kelsey Conway of the Cincinnati Enquirer claims that the team’s initial offer to Higgins was insufficient at $20 million per year.
The franchise tag estimates that Higgins will make $21.8 million in 2024. Higgins probably aspires to join the current 18 receivers who make at least $20 million a season, making him the 19th.
Higgins said he does look forward to playing for the Bengals this season, even if he doesn’t sign a new contract.
“I definitely expect it,” Higgins told WLWT last month. Although I never imagined falling in love with Cincinnati, I’m excited about it, you know?
Last season, Higgins had career lows in receiving yards (656), touchdowns (5), and receptions (42) despite playing in just 12 games due to injuries.
