Anthony Edwards, a key player for the Minnesota Timberwolves, has little desire to start again with the New York Knicks if his wandering feet ever want to go.
Edwards shot down the notion of a “reunion” he had planned with Karl-Anthony Towns, a current New York Knicks player, in a fan’s popular TikTok video. The footage was recorded at Madison Square Garden on October 13th, following the preseason game between the Wolves and the Knicks, which took place above Penn Station.
Fans of the New York Knicks demanded a meeting in Manhattan as Edwards and Towns swapped sneakers and jerseys during their first informal meeting since Towns’ transfer east. Edwards stated categorically that he would “love” to collaborate with Towns again in another video, but he made it plain that this would never happen in New York.

When I’m not playing well, you won’t be angry with me. “Boo!” you’re going to say when I act badly. Thanks to Dan Grosev on TikTok, Edwards informed the fans. “Eighty-two games, I ain’t gonna be good.”
Last season, under the leadership of Edwards and Towns, the Timberwolves were able to make their first conference finals appearance in twenty years, reestablishing their NBA relevancy. Their partnership ended earlier this month when Towns was dealt to the Knicks, making Edwards the unofficial representative of the Timberwolves.
There is a well-deserved reputation for fervor and expectation among Knicks supporters and their urban counterparts. Both excesses are on equal show on a nightly basis and it appears Edwards has no interest in cope with that for the time being, even if it means reconciling with his buddy Towns.
When the Timberwolves return to MSG for their annual visit in January, Edwards will be back in attendance. Meanwhile, Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. ET (MSG), the Knicks (1-2) will be back in play.
