Following the premiere of The Duke, John Mara, co-owner of the New York Giants, gave the following statement to the media: “There are no plans to dismiss general manager Joe Schoen or head coach Brian Daboll during the season, nor do I expect to do so after the season ends, regardless of the record,

” Wellington Mara said in his Giant Life about his late father, Wellington Mara, on Wednesday night. He also stated that he does not anticipate doing so after the season is over.

Mara is dissatisfied with the way that the Giants’ 100th season has taken a turn for the worse right in front of everyone’s eyes.
But in reference to his late father, who served as the team’s patriarch for the most of its one hundred years of existence, Mara remarked about how his father used to preach patience. This is something that Mara is attempting to implement as Schoen and Daboll attempt to sail through some difficult waters in order to get the Giants back on track.

According to the current co-owner of the team, patience has not exactly been one of their strong suits. Following the departure of Tom Coughlin, who is now retired as head coach, following the conclusion of the 2015 season, the Giants have been led by four different coaches: Ben McAdoo, Pat Shurmur, Joe Judge, and Daboll.

In his first season as head coach, Daboll guided the team to a 9-7-1 record and its first playoff spot since 2016, both of which were accomplished under McAdoo. Daboll is the only head coach to have lasted for more than two seasons.

However, things have been trending toward a potential rupture with Jones.

Mara stated to the press that he would not object to Schoen and Daboll selecting another quarterback in the draft if they believed that it would be beneficial to the team.

This statement was made during the league meetings. He went so far as to say that Jones, who has never been severely challenged for his position as the starting quarterback, may benefit from a little bit of competition.
