The Major League Baseball hot stove will heat up soon.
The Major League Baseball offseason will be entertaining before pitchers and catchers start Spring Training. Stars will likely switch teams across the league. The Boston Red Sox should join in the fun.
Boston is close to contending but lacks a couple crucial components. A frontline ace, right-handed hits, and bullpen help are needed by the Red Sox. A left-handed starter and two righty batters would make sense for Boston.
The Red Sox are close and simply need to enter some winter sweepstakes. This offseason is thrilling because anything may happen. White Sox ace Bleacher Report’s Kerry Miller proposed a blockbuster deal to get Garrett Crochet to Boston.
“Hypothetical Trade: Boston sends (outfielder) Roman Anthony, (shortstop) Franklin Arias, and (right-handed pitcher) David Sandlin to Chicago White Sox for (left-handed pitcher) Garrett Crochet and (outfielder) Luis Robert Jr.,” he added. After the Red Sox acquired Quinn Priester from Pittsburgh before the July 30 trade deadline, he may join Boston’s Opening Day rotation, but this team doesn’t have many irreplaceable arms.
That doesn’t mean they’ll give up a top-10 talent or two. They become more expendable, especially if the White Sox incorporate Luis Robert Jr. Boston needs a potential ace and a right-handed power bat, ideally an outfielder, this offseason. Roman Anthony may be baseball’s top prospect in 2025, but if Crochet and Robert are available, he may lead Chicago’s rebuild.”
Trading Anthony is surprising, but if Boston can acquire Crochet and Robert, Miller suggested a trade.
