ESPN Reports: Amy Adams Strunk, owner of the Tennessee Titans has announced that Brian Callahan will no longer serve as head coach…..
Tennessee Titans head coach Brian Callahan spoke out with a cryptic update regarding Will Levis.
The health of quarterback Will Levis remains uncertain as the Tennessee Titans get ready for their Week 8 road game against the Detroit Lions.
Due to a shoulder injury, Levis has been recovering. Although he hasn’t been ruled out of the game this week, there haven’t been many encouraging reports on his prospects of playing.
Head coach Brian Callahan provided an update regarding Levis on Friday. Even if it’s an update, it’s quite mysterious.
“We kind of have a pretty good idea of where we’re headed,” Callahan stated. “On Sunday, we’ll be prepared to play with them. Either Levi starts or he doesn’t start. If he doesn’t start, he will be inactive.
In essence, the quarterback scenario right now is that Levis starts if he does. Mason Rudolph will play in Levis’ place, though, if he doesn’t start.
Levis has had a difficult sophomore season thus far. Despite leaving early in one of the games, he has participated in five others. The 25-year-old quarterback has completed 699 yards, five touchdowns, and seven interceptions on 66.4 percent of his pass attempts.
The Titans’ turnover rate has undoubtedly been a big worry.
Rudolph, who took Levis’ place in the lineup, has been good but not outstanding. He has completed 300 yards, a touchdown, and an interception on 59.6% of his attempts.
It goes without saying that watching the Tennessee offensive has been difficult. They have frequently handed the ball over and have struggled to move it consistently.
In the long run, Levis might be playing for his job for the remainder of the season. If he keeps having problems and doesn’t seem to be getting better, the Titans are being asked to think about replacing him.
With any luck, Levis will be able to return to full strength and begin to improve this year. He displayed significant signs of having a large arm and star potential during his rookie season. That has not been present this season.
As further information about Tennessee’s quarterback situation becomes public, we’ll be sure to include it before this week’s game versus the Lions.
