ESPN: Fans in great shock as Josh Heupel reunites and brings back 5 star wide receiver……
Five-star offensive tackle David Sanders Jr. has officially signed with Tennessee, bringing a close to a lengthy and eventful journey that has been plagued with drama.
Sanders made his commitment to Tennessee in August, but over the course of the past month, his recruitment efforts have begun to pick up steam once more. Initially, things were uncertain due to an unexpected visit to Ohio State, but yesterday, a delayed signature threw rumors into even greater overdrive.
Sanders made his final choice public at Finebaum today, bringing an end to the drama that has been unfolding. Shortly after that, Tennessee made the announcement of the signature.
The offensive line prospect who was born and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina is now the best in the USA. Sanders is ranked as the fifth overall prospect in the entire United States of America by 247Sports, and he is the top prospect in the state of North Carolina.
Sanders, who stands 6 feet 6 inches tall and weighs 290 pounds, is a fluid operator and possesses sufficient athleticism to instantly take on the responsibilities of left tackle. It is his ability to finish that is the most impressive aspect of his game, and he is always searching job opportunities.
For him to be able to compete in SEC competition, he will be required to put on weight very fast; but, given that right tackle John Campbell is on his way out, he should have the opportunity to make an early contribution.
Sanders is the only other talent in Tennessee’s class to receive a five-star rating. At this point, the Volunteers have collected a total of 25 signatures, and there is just one name on the board that has not yet been committed (Onis Konanbanny).
According to 247Sports, Tennessee is presently ranked tenth in the 2025 cycle for the class being discussed.
