Brotherly Reunion in the Works? Bears Take a Look at Terrell Edmunds
The Chicago Bears are in need of assistance in their defensive backfield due to the absence of starting safety Jaquan Brisker, who is out with a concussion. Brisker was placed on injured reserve last week, meaning that the earliest the Bears could have him back in action is Week 15.
Instead of him, the Bears have depended on third-year athlete Elijah Hicks to step in as the strong safety. However, Hicks suffered an ankle injury in Sunday’s loss to the Green Bay Packers, leaving the Bears even thinner in the secondary.
Per NFL Network’s Ian Rapport, the Bears are working out free agent safety Terrell Edmunds at Halas Hall on Tuesday. In Chicago’s group of linebackers, Tremaine Edmunds, brother of Terrell, is a well-established member.
Terrell Edmunds, who was let go by the Steelers recently, accumulated seven tackles (five of them solo) in 61 defensive plays and 81 special teams plays before his departure. Throughout seven seasons, the 27-year-old athlete has accumulated a total of six interceptions, one forced fumble, 7.5 sacks, and 465 tackles (315 of which were solo) in 101 games, showcasing his remarkable career achievements.
