Emotional Departure: As brilliant star player for the Florida State Seminoles, waves goodbye and announces his contract termination with severe allegations, tears well up across the room as he announced his…….Read more

The future field appearances of some of the younger Seminoles players have been a source of curiosity for Florida State football fans.

After suffering setbacks against Georgia Tech, Boston College, and Memphis, the Seminoles are fresh off a thrilling triumph over California to add another victory to their record. While I don’t necessarily disagree with certain fans’ assertions that this 2024 season is pointless, the coaching staff would want to consider their options for 2025 given that Florida State will host the Alabama Crimson Tide in their opening game the following year.

Following a conference title and an unbeaten regular season in 2023, Florida State’s 2024 campaign has been dismal. With Vegas projecting the Seminoles’ over/under win total at 9.5 (which has already hit the under through three games), the expectations were high.

DJ Uiagalelei, a quarterback transfer, has been the signal-caller for the awful offense. I wouldn’t, however, put the entire burden on him since there are a number of parts of the offensive that haven’t turned out properly.

Fans of the Seminoles are hoping to see true freshman Elijah Moore play on the field. In Florida State’s previous recruiting class, the 6’4″ Maryland native was rated as a four-star talent. In the 2024 cycle, he was regarded as one of the top-200 recruits. The only problem, though, was that he was a summer enrollee.

Compared to other wide receivers in the class like Lawayne McCoy, Camdon Frier, and BJ Gibson, he did not have the same opportunities. Following practice on Wednesday, head football coach Mike Norvell fielded questions regarding Moore and said the following:

“I have high hopes for him and his future. He still has a lot of work to do before he can be considered ready to play.”

It seems sense that a true freshman isn’t prepared to contribute just yet. You might bring up a player like Hykeem Williams, a sophomore wide receiver, who was incredibly gifted coming out of high school but had a difficult time adjusting to college football right away.

Moore has just been in Tallahassee since this summer, so it is understandable that it would be challenging for a true freshman to grasp everything up so quickly. Without impeding his development, he needs to be given space to expand and mature at his own rate.
