Randy Moss, a former wide receiver for the Minnesota Vikings, startled a lot of fans when he revealed that he is battling cancer during an Instagram live video. This put an end to the weeks-long speculation that had been going on about the unknown disease that caused him to stay away from his on-screen work with ESPN.

Randy Moss Addresses His Future at ESPN Amid Cancer Diagnosis
On Friday, Moss released the information that he had been hospitalized for a period of six days and that he had undergone surgery to remove the cancer that was located between his pancreas and his liver. In the course of the operation, a portion of his pancreas, small intestine, gallbladder, and bile duct were removed.

Moss, who also disclosed that he is unable to walk without the assistance of a cane, expressed gratitude to all of his admirers and coworkers who have offered him well-wishes ever since he announced his decision to take a leave of absence.

“I really did feel all of the prayers coming through,” Moss said. “Man, those prayer warriors — I felt them all coming through.” “While I was in the hospital, I was checking at my social media accounts, but you prayer warriors and all of my teammates, I saw everything that you guys tweeted at me. I felt that really strongly, and so did my family, and because of that, we are extremely grateful.

Among the next steps for the Hall of Famer are chemotherapy and radiation therapy, and it is anticipated that Moss will be off from television for a period of time.

Moss, who is a regular on “Sunday NFL Countdown,” made the announcement more than a week ago that he would be taking a long leave of absence from ESPN in order to concentrate on his health. Moss did offer a glimmer of hope regarding his future with the network in terms of broadcasting, despite the fact that there is no definitive schedule for the 47-year-old’s rehabilitation.

“As soon as I get healthy enough to get back out with guys, I will be on set,” Moss said in a live video that he posted to Instagram. “With any luck, I will be able to join you all very soon. Getting back on television with my squad is one of my primary objectives.

Moss has been working for ESPN since 2016, and he has made appearances on both of the network’s most popular pregame shows, which are “Monday Night Countdown” and “Sunday NFL Countdown.”
