BREAKING NEWS: Chicago white sox Swap Controversial Pitcher Garrett Crochet for “OVERPAID” $160M MLB Pitcher in a new Trade proposal…
The New York Mets selected Dunn, a baseball player from Boston College, in the first round of the 2016 draught. He was part of a sensational trade that sent Edwin Diaz and Robinson Cano to the Seattle Mariners from the New York Mets before the 2019 season. The deal also included Jarred Kelenic.
In the trade that sent Eugenio Suarez and Jesse Winker to Seattle from the Mariners before the 2022 season, he was traded to the Cincinnati Reds. Throughout his career, the New York native has struggled with ineffectiveness and injuries, while being expected to play a significant role in Seattle’s future.
In 2019, he made four starts for the Mariners. In COVID 2020, he made ten starts and went 4-1. After making 11 starts with the Mariners in 2021 and going 1-3, he appeared in just seven games for the Reds the following year. In 2023, he made just three minor league appearances and did not have a chance to pitch in the top leagues.
Back in 2019, MLB.com listed him as the No. 91 baseball prospect. With a 41-121 record, the White Sox have clearly just completed their worst season in modern times. The pitching staff has plenty of room for guys to get back on track, so we’ll watch Dunn take advantage of his opportunity if he can earn a position.
This offseason, Chicago can choose to sign either Chris Flexen or Mike Soroka. More openings in the rotation could open up for Dunn if they trade Garrett Crochet, who is also slated to be traded.
