Reynaldo Lopez and Aaron Bummer, both of whom formerly pitched for the Chicago White Sox, have successfully renegotiated their contracts with the Atlanta Braves.

Saturday was the day when the Braves made the announcement:

The left-handed pitcher Aaron Bummer was signed by the Atlanta Braves today to a two-year contract worth $13 million. The left-handed pitcher is scheduled to earn $3.5 million in 2025 and $9.5 million in 2026 according to the agreement. An other right-handed pitcher named Reynaldo Lopez was also signed by the club to a three-year contract. The right-handed pitcher is scheduled to earn $8 million in 2025, $14 million in 2026, and $8 million in 2027. In November of last year, Lopez signed a contract with Atlanta that was initially for three years and included a club option for the 2027 season.

In 2025, they are victories for the Braves since they have the opportunity to reorganize some of their financial resources and improve the team’s payroll condition.

A 3.58 earned run average was recorded by the 31-year-old Bummer during the previous season. During the offseason before to the current one, the White Sox had dealt him to the Braves. In his lifetime, he has a 3.79 earned run average and is 18-18. In his seven years with the White Sox (2017-2023), he was instrumental in the team’s advancement to the postseason in both the year 2020 and the year 2021.

Lopez, on the other hand, went from being a reliever to a starter during the Atlanta season, and he ended up having an outstanding year. He had an earned run average of 1.99 and a record of 8-5. Lopez has been a member of the Washington Nationals, White Sox, Los Angeles Angels, Cleveland Guardians, and Braves over the course of his nine-year career as a professional baseball player. In the previous season, he was selected for the All-Star Game. During his seven years with the White Sox, he had a record of 33-44.
