At 26 years old, Juan Soto is now a free agent for the first time in his career, solidifying his reputation as a talent for generations to come.

This offseason, the superstar outfielder is certain to sign a contract worth more than $600 million, making it the biggest in Major League Baseball history.

The current New York Yankees, the Mets, and the Dodgers are just a few of the big-market teams said to be interested in signing Soto.

According to ESPN’s Jeff Passan, the Dodgers will take advantage of any opportunity that presents itself when star players like Soto become available, but they will not make special efforts to get him:

Even though they may be priced out, other teams have expressed interest. The Los Angeles Dodgers aren’t going to go all out to get Soto (with Shohei Ohtani at designated hitter, they’d be short on options if Soto’s defensive range forced a trade), but they would be open to considering him if his market were to soften.
