Lewis is anticipated to participate in practice for the first time since September on Thursday, despite the fact that the Colts merely conducted a walkthrough on Wednesday.

Over the course of the first month of the season, Lewis suffered injuries to his wrist, calf, and elbow, which ultimately led to his placement on injured reserve on October 1.

During the first four games of the season, he started on the right side of the defensive line for the Colts. He finished with 17 total tackles, including two for loss and 1.5 stops for loss.

Dayo Odeyingbo, who was selected in the second round in 2021, and Laitu Latu, who was selected in the first round in 2024, both have a combined 3.0 sacks for the season. Lewis’ injury provided greater opportunities for both of these players.

The Colts’ depth at defensive end, which also includes Kwity Paye, who was selected in the first round in 2021, will make it possible for Lewis to increase his participation after he returns to practice without feeling an excessive amount of pressure to immediately contribute to the team’s performance.

In order to continue playing for the Indianapolis Colts during the offseason, Lewis agreed to a two-year agreement worth $12 million. Since being drafted by the Colts with the final choice of the second round in 2018, he has remained with the team during the entirety of his professional career.

After Lewis has had the opportunity to participate in team practices for a period of twenty-one days, he will either be activated or placed on injured reserve for the remainder of the season.
