Breaking: Boston Bruins Left wing shocks fans by Departing After heated Rift with head coach Joe Sacco….See more

On Saturday night, Joe Sacco will take his Bruins to Detroit in an effort to make it two wins in a row after winning his first game in the interim role.

When Jim Montgomery was let go on Tuesday, Boston was riding a three-game losing run (0-2-1). Sacco was in command of the Bruins’ bench as they barely edged out a 1-0 victory against visiting Utah on Thursday.

“[It felt] pretty good, I’m not going to lie to you,” he added. It was even more crucial to help our team win. Our confidence has grown, and I believe we played with an almost businesslike attitude in Thursday’s game. “I thought we had a couple of individuals that really brought the energy to our group (Thursday) to lift the bench at certain moments during the game, and just a good effort all around from our guys,” the coach said.

The shutout was secured by Joonas Korpisalo, who made 22 saves. On Boston’s fifth power play of the game, Elias Lindholm’s goal from the second period stood.

In a statement, Bruins captain Brad Marchand expressed his belief that it was a positively confidence-boosting factor. With this information in hand, we can reply appropriately and play the game our way. The circumstance that necessitated our response is still something you despise. Although it was a good game, it is just that—a game.

Before Montgomery was fired, Boston won two games in a row without allowing an earned run. Prior to his role as associate coach this season, Sacco coached the Colorado Rockies from 2009 to 2013, during which time the team posted a 130–134–30 record.

Similarly, Detroit snapped a three-game losing streak (0-2-1) on Thursday with a bang. The Red Wings defeated the Islanders 2-1 at home in a game that went into the last 51.1 seconds thanks to a goal scored by Lucas Raymond.

The ball was recovered from the boards by Dylan Larkin, and Raymond scored past Islanders goalkeeper Ilya Sorokin with a one-timer from the left circle. His previous season total was 31 goals, but this was only his third this year.

I thought we were all in this together, right? Raymond reassured her that she was being treated similarly. Everyone is satisfied inside the locker room as long as we are winning games. It was a monumental night for us since, regrettably, we haven’t been engaging in it as of late. This is a foundation upon which to grow. It’s great to acquire one at home, even if it’s obviously just a start.

With 4 minutes and 46 seconds remaining, Jonatan Berggren scored to save the Red Wings from a potential shutout, their second in a row.

“Certainly not ideal to have to score two in the last five minutes to find a win but I felt we got what we deserved,” Derek Lalonde told reporters.

It was an added thrill to see Raymond, who plays on the first line, score the winning goal. Unfortunately, both of his goals this season were in defeats.

“It’s different for a goal scorer when it hits the back of the net and that was a big-time shot,” said Lalonde. As the league’s best goalie, Sorokin deserves a lot of the credit for those two goals and finishes. To him, it was just that expression. I was expecting it to take a really nasty bounce, but it didn’t. It was a two-goal game.

The Red Wings will play five of their next six games at home starting on Saturday. On December 3, they will travel to Boston for a rematch.
