In spite of the fact that they had already won the World Series in 2024, the Los Angeles Dodgers might still be interested in adding another star player to their team. Anthony Santander, an All-Star player with the Baltimore Orioles, is a free agent and has the potential to find himself in Los Angeles.

According to Zachary D. Rymer of Bleacher Report, the Dodgers are a potential suitor for Santander in free agency. Rymer made this statement when ranking the top landing locations for Santander. On the other hand, their pursuit of Juan Soto might have the effect of preventing it from occurring in the end.

In addition, the Dodgers are interested in Soto, and there is no question that they pose a genuine danger to the team. Rymer noted that “it is evident that they possess the financial resources, and during the month of October, Soto was given a firsthand look at their winning ways.”

On the off chance that the Dodgers are unable to get Soto, Santander may be an excellent addition to their roster if he is still available. A total of four players, including Santander, hit forty or more home runs in the year 2024. Additionally, he was selected to participate in his very first All-Star game of his professional career.

Spotrac forecasts that Santander will sign a free agent contract for $88 million over the course of five years.

“Santander’s profile is nonetheless similar to those of Kyle Schwarber and Nick Castellanos when they entered the market after the 2021 season,” Rymer stated in his article. “The former was awarded $80 million over a period of four years. The latter was awarded $100 million over a period of five years.

In the current market, Santander is considered to be among the top available outfielders. On the other hand, he will probably have to wait until teams find out where Soto will go before he can sign, just like other top outfielders. Teoscar Hernández might be brought back by the Dodgers if they place a high importance on maintaining the cohesiveness of their World Series club. Santanders could be used by the Dodgers in the event that Soto finally signs with another team.

“However, in the event that the Dodgers are unable to acquire Soto, what are the possibilities that they will simply pick up Hernández instead? Rymer commented that it was probably high. “They know what he can do and that he wants to come back.”
