Once again, Jeremiyah Love was instrumental in Notre Dame’s comeback victory over Virginia, as seems to be happening regularly now. With an average of 8.6 yards per carry, Love gained 137 yards on 16 carries, including a long touchdown run of 76 yards.
According to PFF, this back’s performance in week 12 was the best in the nation, earning a rating of 90.3. Love has been steady throughout the year, even though Notre Dame’s offense has struggled at times. A small fold is all it takes for him to work his magic.
In what ways may Love be most useful to Mike Denbrock going ahead?
Notre Dame’s electric player is Jeremiyah Love. Things go well when he has the ball. With the passing game severely limited, Mike Denbrock’s decision to start Love in the last two games of the regular season and the playoffs has become an important talking point. How can we make the most of this explosive athlete?
Denrock should think about some other options. To start, all Love needs is a handful extra carries every half. The chances of something good happening with him having a few extra carries each game are higher when every touch has the potential to be a home run.
Second, I think Love and Price would be great in a two-back set, since it would make defenders choose between them and create more chances for huge plays. Finally, I’d love it if Love got a few short passes. Love can be sent on his way with only one block and one move following a capture!
A powerful weapon is in the fold, and Mike Denbrock knows it. In the midst of the Irish’s playoff drive, I have no doubt that he has unfulfilled intentions for Love.
