A $13 million Steelers star is expected to join the Cowboys after leaving Pittsburgh.

After a crucial victory over the Baltimore Ravens in Week 11, the Pittsburgh Steelers are now 8-2 and leading the AFC North after 11 weeks. In Week 12, the squad will play the Cleveland Browns at Huntington Bank Field.

On Sunday, the Steelers’ offense sputtered, failing to consistently sustain drives and find the end zone. Running back Najee Harris had a successful day despite their mistakes, recording 93 scrimmage yards on 22 touches. Lately, he has been playing with more explosiveness than ever before.

With Harris thriving under first-year offensive coordinator Arthur Smith, the 2025 free agency market for the former Alabama star will be quite competitive.

According to Dallas Robinson of Pro Football Network, Harris will leave Pittsburgh this summer and join with the Dallas Cowboys, despite the Steelers’ desire to re-sign the veteran.

“Harris’ skill set as a downhill runner with receiving ability could work with Dak Prescott,” Robinson stated. “Harris is a free agent next year after Pittsburgh rejected his 2025 fifth-year option. If the Cowboys wish to pursue him on the free market, his price shouldn’t be too high.”

Since joining the league in 2021, Harris has been among the more effective running backs, starting his career with three consecutive 1,000-yard seasons. After 10 games in 2024, the former first-round choice has already amassed 708 rushing yards and 182 passing yards.

Harris shouldn’t be too costly for the Cowboys to acquire, even though the running back market is heating up because of the outstanding play of Saquon Barkley and Derrick Henry, who were both acquired out of free agency by the Philadelphia Eagles and Baltimore Ravens, respectively, in the offseason.

Despite missing the season due to a hamstring injury, Dak Prescott, a three-time Pro Bowler, is expected to start for Dallas again in 2025.

After a terrible season on the field in 2024, the Cowboys would be wise to acquire Harris if they hope to field a more balanced offensive approach the following season.

Although the Steelers would probably try to keep Harris, the Cowboys would be an interesting destination for the muscular player if the 26-year-old does not return.
