Silver Slugger Award winner Vladimir Guerrero Jr. of the Toronto Blue Jays was honored on Tuesday night. The trophy for first basemen in the American League went to him.
Guerrero Jr. had a fantastic season despite the Blue Jays’ 74-88 American League East finish. His.323 batting average, 30 home runs, and 103 RBIs were good enough for second place in the league. Guerrero Jr. proved once again that he is one of baseball’s top hitters and deserves a massive contract deal following a poor 2023 season.
Guerrero Jr. gained some unique baseball history when he tied his Hall of Fame father for the second Silver Slugger Award.

Counting his father’s 25th season, Vlad Jr. currently owns more Silver Sluggers than dad did. During his time in the Hall of Fame, Vlad Sr. amassed eight.
Guerrero Jr. has been with the Blue Jays for his whole six-year career. Throughout his career, he has hit.288 with 160 HR and 507 RBI. In addition to making the All-Star squad for four years in a row, he has a good shot of finishing in the top ten of MVP votes this year.
Regarding Guerrero Sr., he was a major league baseball player for sixteen years, spanning stops with the Expos, Angels, Rangers, and Orioles. Not only that, but he won eight Silver Slugger Awards, was named to the All-Star team nine times, and was named MVP.
He had a career batting average of.318 and smashed 449 home runs. It was in 2018 that he received his Hall of Fame induction.
