ESPN: Houston Rockets have just announced the return of their 24-year old veteran star to the starting roster…..Read more
There are a lot of people working in the kitchen for the Houston Rockets, but the question of whether or not there are too many people still persists.
Andy Bailey, a reporter for Bleacher Report, has described the Rockets as “overstuffed” after they had played nine games so far this season. “The Rockets are having a difficult time navigating a challenge that many people anticipated would arise. Too many players are in need of playing time, and the majority of them belong to one of two categories:
either they are a very important developmental prospect or they are a required veteran stabilizer. According to what Bailey writes, it is difficult to determine which of Houston’s many young players makes sense with one another, even among those who fall into the primary category.
It is not necessarily a negative thing that Tari Eason is able to take over entire halves, that Amen Thompson is able to guard Luka Dončić as good as any human on the globe, that Jalen Green is able to score like a superstar, and that Jabari Smith Jr. is developing into a budget Kevin Durant who defends.
On the other hand, the Rockets are unable to highlight all of their prospects, and they need to determine which of their prospects are worth keeping and paying in addition to Green and Alperen Senguen, who have already received their extensions.
However, after a few years of choosing top-notch prospects, the Rockets now face a new challenge: they need to determine which players are legitimate and which are not. Previously, the Rockets faced the problem of not having enough potential, but now they are facing a new challenge instead.
It is a problem that the Rockets would much prefer to have in comparison to the problems they have had in the past, despite the fact that it can be challenging when certain players are only getting a few minutes of playing time each night.
Tomorrow marks the return of the Rockets to the floor, where they will compete against the Detroit Pistons. The game is scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m. Central Time.
