The 2024 season has not gone according to plan for the Las Vegas Raiders. The offense has been particularly lacking for Coach Antonio Pierce’s squad this year. The offensive miscues that the Raiders have committed have contributed significantly to their 2-7 record.

Raider Nation has been left wanting offensively due to the team’s inconsistent quarterback and subpar running game. Pierce dismissed Rich Scangarello as quarterbacks coach, James Cregg as offensive line coach, and Luke Getsy as offensive coordinator due to the Raiders’ dismal offensive performance.

Las Vegas is crossing its fingers that the adjustments it has made to that aspect of the game will pay off. The Raiders’ coaching staff includes more seasoned veterans than just Turner. Joe Philbin, who was an offensive assistant before, is now serving as the team’s temporary head coach of the offensive line. While Aaron Rodgers was quarterback for the Green Bay Packers, Philbin was the offensive coordinator. He has also coached the Miami Dolphins.

Tom Coughlin, a consultant for the Raiders, is also a coach who won a Super Bowl. For a coach like Pierce, who is still finding his footing in the industry, his time spent working under the renowned Bill Parcells is invaluable.

The presence of such seasoned thinkers at Las Vegas’s discussions bodes well for the future of their floundering offence. In order to get Scott Turner out of a jam, Philbin and Coughlin might apply what they’ve learned about winning offenses to Scott’s situation.

Because of their inability to run the football, the Raiders have had offensive struggles. Zamir White’s performance at the end of the 2023 season did not meet their expectations.

Despite Turner’s experience in passing games, the Raiders will look to him to improve their running game and help them sustain drives. Given their stellar track records as coaches, Philbin and Coughlin should be able to lend a hand there.
