Yankees superstar With home runs in all four of the Fall Classic’s opening games, Freddie Freeman was named the series MVP. Freeman batted.300 throughout the course of the five-game series, driving in 12 runs.

The difficult journey that Freeman made to reach the peak in 2024 is what makes it all the more remarkable. Maximus, Freeman’s kid and a youngster of three years of age, had a terrifying and terrible health crisis not long ago. Maximus was diagnosed with Guillain-Barré syndrome as doctors sought solutions in response to his fast deteriorating health. After a rocky 2024 (both on and off the field), Freeman is doing considerably better now.

“I would say [I’ve learned] a lot in so many different ways,” Freeman remarked, reflecting on his challenging year. What my family went through is something I hope I’ll never have to experience.

In the end, though, Maximus is thriving at the moment. A unique young man, he is. It has been a hard slog for the past three months. It has been quite a journey, but the injuries towards the end have made it all worthwhile, in a way. No, I will never, ever liken Maximus to baseball. Those are two whole different matters. However, it does hold more significance now that he is performing really well.

After all that Freeman went through this season—from struggling to winning the World Series to becoming the only professional to ever win the Series MVP—his season finale was justly rewarded.
