ESPN report: Greg Penner, the owner of the Denver broncos, has announced that Sean Payton will no longer serve as head coach…..

At the NFL trade deadline, the Denver Broncos may try to bolster their offense with the addition of a playmaker like this. One of the two backup quarterbacks, Zach Wilson or Jarrett Stidham, could be of interest to teams, according to a recent story by Broncos insider Mike Klis. The report had a wealth of information.01jaz9d1785bw5acg4q1 ESPN report: Greg Penner, the owner of the Denver broncos, has announced that Sean Payton will no longer serve as head coach…..

It was widely believed that Denver would eventually trade for Wilson in order to secure Stidham’s starting quarterback position. My guess is that Wilson was traded for the chance to play backup quarterback for a long time, given his younger age and significantly higher ceiling compared to Stidham.

Before the deadline this year, Denver could try to trade one of them for offensive help, but as Klis points out below, they could also try to acquire more players:

The Broncos might need to free up cap space in order to sign a running back, tight end, or any number of players to bolster their offense in the second half. According to Spotrac.com, the Broncos’ cap space is currently at $5.2 million. For example, this year’s cap hit for a tight end like Hunter Henry is $5.3 million. Compared to Wilson, Stidham’s cap hit was $7 million going into this season. Wilson’s was $7 million.

“Hunter” Mike Klis Henry, is that so?

Would the Denver Broncos be wise to trade for Hunter Henry?
It is absolutely! The New England Patriots have been Hunter Henry’s team for the past several seasons, and he has finally found a way to play through his injury history. The Patriots are obviously in rebuilding mode, so it would be logical for them to become sellers before the deadline. Henry is a solid target, but the Patriots could gain a first or second round pick if they trade for him because he isn’t very young. This would help them with their long-term strategy.

With 27 receptions for 313 yards and a score in 2024, Hunter will turn 30 in December. At the moment, he’s projected to have 66 receptions for 760 yards. You would reach new heights with one of those numbers. The addition of Hunter Henry would be a tremendous boon to the Denver offense and would make him the best tight end the Broncos have had in a long time.

Additionally, it’s comforting to see that he has only missed three games since the 2021 NFL season began. Even while Henry isn’t a long-term solution, he may help the Broncos improve their offensive line—one of the worst in the NFL—and give Bo Nix a few more years to grow into his potential.

We both benefit. The Broncos’ current lineup, which includes Adam Trautman and Lucas Krull, is, to be honest, stinky. Denver should be interested in adding to its tight end room for the correct price, but they shouldn’t pay too much for any player on the trade deadline market. No doubt about it: this squad can afford to spend a little to bolster their offensive with a playmaker.
