Cooper Kupp could well be traded, but would the financials line up for the Denver Broncos?01jax4820fv2j1dzdnv5 A Bold Move in a Time of Crisis: Denver Broncos Propose $139.5 Million Trade for Rivals’ QB Amidst…..Read more

Since Alvin Kamara, the star running back for the New Orleans Saints, got a new deal, it’s possible that he will play for Sean Payton again. The Denver Broncos are still looking for a skilled player to take Payton’s place as the “joker.”

Payton probably wouldn’t mind getting either a real pass-catching tight end or a fast receiver to help his team move forward. Right now there are as many trade rumors as there are fall leaves on the ground. With the 4-3 Broncos still in the running for the playoffs, they’ve been mentioned as a possible trade target for Los Angeles Rams star receiver Cooper Kupp.

There have been rumors that Kupp might be traded, but he has put an end to those rumors and proudly stated his loyalty to the Rams.

“I’m aware of it, but at the end of the day, I mean, I’m going to be where my feet are,” Kupp told ESPN. “That’s all I know.” I need to do something here. And it makes me feel great to know that I did everything I could to prepare for the guys in this building and to be able to get ready for the field. I’ve been an L.A. Ram for seven and a half years, and I’ve always done things that way.

At this point in time of the year, Kupp’s claims aren’t worth much. The truth is that Kupp doesn’t make the big decisions in the front office that decide every season which players stay or leave.

Kupp hasn’t played since Week 2, when he hurt his ankle against the Arizona Cardinals. The powerful wide receiver’s time on injured reserve is finally over, so he’ll probably play against the Minnesota Vikings on Thursday night.

If the Rams lose another game, they will likely be eager to move at the November 5 trade deadline, according to general manager Les Snead. The league as a whole will be interested in the Rams’ 31-year-old spark plug, but his price could go up a lot.

The Broncos have been linked to Kupp, but as always, there will be a lot more to a possible move than just availability. The Broncos’ very inexperienced receiving corps would get a big boost from Kupp, who is known as “X-factor.”

During his long and successful career, the former Super Bowl winner has been just as good at getting dirty yards in chase of big plays, which will make him very appealing to teams in the running.Broncos general manager George Paton will have to think about how much it will cost and how much Kupp will make if he really wants to trade for him.

As for Kupp’s recent IR sting, there is no doubt that he wants to get back on the field. He’s always been a boss who does his job and thinks he has a lot of gas left in the tank.

“Being able to have a full offseason this year and being able to build that up and put the work in to set yourself up to go do something this year,” Kupp told me. “I feel really confident about being able to come back now knowing that I have that base and be able to play really good football.”

Everything sounds great, but the Broncos want to quickly get rid of Russell Wilson’s dead-money hits on the salary cap, so taking on a 30-something receiver’s huge pay might be too much for them to handle. The most Kupp can make this year is $29.8 million, and the most he can make before his deal ends in 2026 is $27.3 million.

For any possible deal to go through, the Rams would have to be very flexible with money and might even have to pay Kupp a lot to play somewhere else. Before a reasonable middle ground could be found, he would have to be ready to renegotiate his deal, maybe in a big way.

There are different levels of making trades happen. Making trades happen is one thing.
