A Chargers star is mentioned as a potential trade or unexpected cut.
The Los Angeles Chargers are currently attempting to qualify for the playoffs. The Chargers are dominating under Jim Harbaugh, sitting at 7-3 (ahead of Monday night’s game) and the fifth-seed in the AFC.
With six games remaining in the regular season, the Chargers are starting to ignite at the perfect moment, so there’s really no reason to start thinking about next season just yet. ESPN’s Dan Graziano, however, has other ideas and has compiled a list of possible surprise cut/trade candidates for the upcoming offseason.
Among those contenders was Joey Bosa, according to Graziano.
“Bosa turns 30 next July and is scheduled to make a non-guaranteed $25.36 million next season,” Graziano stated. “The Chargers will make this decision early since $12.36 million is a roster bonus that must be used at some point in March. If they let him go, they would lose a little over $11 million on their 2025 cap.
Since the 2022 season, Bosa has regrettably struggled with a number of injuries that have limited his output. Although a Bosa decision might be made early in the offseason, they shouldn’t have to worry about this just yet.
